Advancing UAV-Based Marine Remote Sensing

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on the development of marine remote sensing equipment and systems, intelligent UAV-based sensing technologies, and integrated air-sea observation systems. They also plan to conduct application demonstrations and promote the translation of research into practical solutions.

By combining OUC’s expertise in marine remote sensing with JOUAV’s experience in UAV platforms, data processing, and system integration, the joint laboratory will provide a platform for collaborative research, technology development, and application testing.

The partners also plan to contribute to the development of industry and national standards for UAV applications in marine environments, helping support broader adoption and technical exchange in the field.

Bridging Marine Research and Practical Applications

At the ceremony, Li Yan, Vice President of OUC, highlighted the role of low-altitude platforms in connecting satellite remote sensing, surface observations, and marine applications. He noted the university’s ongoing efforts to develop interdisciplinary research at the intersection of low-altitude technology and marine science, and expressed hope that the joint laboratory would help bridge scientific research and practical applications.

Li Xiaoyan, Executive Vice President of JOUAV, described the partnership as an important step in the company’s development of low-altitude marine remote sensing. JOUAV will contribute its expertise in UAV platforms, system integration, and industrial applications to explore new approaches to marine-focused solutions with OUC.

Supporting the Development of Marine Observation Technologies

The establishment of the joint laboratory marks a new step in JOUAV’s collaboration with academic institutions to explore specialized applications for industrial UAVs.

Through continued research and development, the two parties aim to advance low-altitude remote sensing technologies, support the development of integrated marine observation capabilities, and bring innovative solutions closer to real-world marine applications.
