What exactly are industrial and consumer drones?

1.The difference between consumer drones and industrial drones

As the name suggests, consumer drones are machines for consumption and entertainment. Consumer drones' tasks take pictures, whether aerial photography or ultra-low-altitude selfies, mainly for entertainment purposes.

The demand for industrial drones directly comes from specific industries, and the operating environment is special, which requires more precise positioning of functions, high environmental adaptability, and high reliability. It can achieve industrial three-proof (fire, rain, dust) and normally work in various complex environments such as rain and snow, high-cold areas, high-temperature fire fields, and electromagnetic interference. Industrial UAVs have higher requirements regarding endurance, load capacity, safety, and reliability, and industrial UAVs should also have customization characteristics. Different modules should be replaced according to different fields of use.

The key technology of drones is flight control. For industrial drones, the use of general-purpose flight control is not a must. However, due to the different application fields of industrial UAVs, for example, power line patrol may have higher requirements for battery life and image transmission distance. Logistics UAVs have higher requirements for load weight and map analysis capabilities. According to different needs and strengthen the corresponding points of the flight control, it can be combined with industry applications very well.

2.Classification of industrial drones

UAV types can be roughly divided into fixed-wing UAVs, unmanned helicopters, and multi-rotor UAVs. Multi-rotor UAVs can be divided into four rotors, six rotors, and eight rotors according to the number of rotors. Depending on its take-off and landing modes and endurance capabilities, UAV applications are also different. Fixed-wing UAVs were mostly used for military UAVs in the early stage, and they played an important role after they were converted to civilian use. They have long endurance, high efficiency, and fast special effects and are convenient for large-area operations. Civil UAVs generally use multi-rotor UAVs, which are easy to operate, flexible, and stable, and are mainly used for fine operations.

3.Application of industrial drones

Technology changes lives. With the development of science and technology, higher-risk occupations will gradually be replaced by equipment.
