CW-15 + 100 Mega pixel PhaseOne camera Case study


Today, we're going to show you a test that we did in 2019.

Test purposes

JOUAV CW-15 is equipped with a 100-megapixel PhaseOne medium frame industrial camera iXM-100, we want to test the processing accuracy of No GCP(Ground Control Point) in the case of different aerial photography overlap rates.

Route planning

The test area is a hilly area, with the highest elevation of 970m, the lowest elevation of 736m and the highest elevation difference of 234m.

In this test, CW-15 was equipped with PhaseOne iXM-100, matched with 35mm focal length lens, and conducted 1:500 orthodiagraph flight, with two flight in total. In the test, the relative altitude was 340m, and the course overlap rate was 70% and the side overlap rate was 50% in the first flight, the course overlap rate was 70% and the side overlap rate was 40% in the second flight.

The flight area was 4.459km², with an average ground resolution of 3.66cm, and a total of 169 original images.

The second flight

The flight area was 4.582km², with an average ground resolution of 3.65cm, and a total of 155 original images.

Conclusion

The CW - 15 and PhaseOne iXM - 100 industrial camera is a highly integrated, matching 35 mm lens, and use my company's JOPPS software to carry on the PKK, overlap rate beside the course overlap rate 70%, side overlap rate 40%, and in the condition of No GCP,

The mean error of level and elevation is basically controlled within 0.05m, satisfies the requirement of aerial precision, greatly improve the working efficiency and the effect of mapping.
